Huelgoat market

Bonjour!

We are hoping to camp for a few days in May at La Riviere D'Argent and would like to visit the market at Huelgoat. Can you tell me whether we could get there by bicycle or on foot from the campsite to save on parking problems? Is it a vegetable market or are there other things like jewellery  and fabrics etc? Also I have heard that there is a cafe in the middle of the forest- is it possible to cycle to that?

I don't think you would have a problem cycling to the market from the campsite, although you shouldn't have any problems parking if you decide to drive, there is generally plenty of spaces by the Marie's office.
The cafe in the woods is actually closer to you so that shouldn't be a problem either.

I guess you already know the market is on Thursday mornings. You can cycle practically anywhere in Huelgoat if you don't mind hills. But it's flat from the camp site and not very far. Enjoy!

The cafe in the woods (see here http://autrerive.hautetfort.com/) îs on your right as you cycle to Huelgoat from the camp site. Well worth a visit.... It is sign posted.

Spent a few days here last week and really enjoyed it. We elected to take the van to the market as it was raining and as geriatric cyclists we didn't find the road quite flat enough lol but there was plenty of room to park. On another day we parked the van at the bottom of the hill leading to the cafe and took the walk to the town through the woods which was beautiful. The cafe in the forest is excellent and we enjoyed a tasty lunch there too. All in all a great trip and we will return!
