schools!!!

Booked to come and see schools end of jan... honest opinion on local huelgoat schools for 10 and 14 yr old..have lots of conflicting advice as they are non french speaking (my boys). or info on local private schools.. or any helpful school info.. really want to become part of the community...or nearest english speaking school, internet not very useful i've found

The older they are the more difficult it will be to pick up French. It all depends on how motivated they are. You can always ask for them to be in a year below the English equivalent. You could also ask for extra help with teaching them French. Often there are "surveillants" who can do this or indeed teachers.

The best thing is to actually go to a local school and have a chat with the principal.

Aged ten, your child will still be at primary school. This is probably the best age group to start learning French. Kids who start in primary school usually learn much faster. Have a chat with the teacher.
