New public footpath
Photo: Lakeside: A public footpath has been created.
Work on a new footpath, supervised by local councillor Claude Guelle (in the photo next to one of the council workers, Jean-Pierre Moreau) is almost complete.
What do you think of the new footpath? Is it a good idea or a waste of time and money?
Re: New public footpath
I noticed it for the first time a few days ago and thought what an improvement it was, there were parts that used to get quite muddy. I certainly don't think It's a waste of money and am impressed by the continual improvements all around Huelgoat. I think the council is to be commended.
Re: New public footpath
Location would be good !
From the picture I am going to take a wild guess and say it's down by the campingcar park.
I will look next time I pass.
Any thing that improves the look of the town can't be a waste of money.
You could argue that there was a better project but not that it's a waste
of money as anything of this type of thing comes from a budget that was
only ever going to be spent on path's and flowers etc.
As for the town council Claude Guelle is almost (alllllmmmmoooosssstttt)
actually looking happy - now that's an improvement !
No seriously just for a moment the town council has as far as I am concerned made more
visual improvements than the last list.
The Mairie also seems to run far more efficiently than it used to - perhaps this is more
thanks to the efforts of Jean-François Perrot the secretary. The various officials also now
seem to respond in a more timely manner. I could go on but I feel the topic is being hi jacked
by this post.

Re: New public footpath
It's down next to the camp site, Joe, the side where the kids have their activity holidays in the summer. I guess the aim is to keep the general public out of the way of the kids shooting bows and arrows etc.
I personally think it looks good and is nicer to walk alongside the river than than through the camp site even if at first I thought "Oh damn! A detour!"
Spike will love it too!
And yes, I noticed that half smile on your friend Claude's face. I always want to say "Cheer up mate, life's too short!"
