Oppppsssss rich business people will dessert France soon.

Hmmm... Wouldn't it be nice to earn more than 1 million a year! So the footballers are all going to leave? We might actually get some new good ones on the otherwise useless French team then!

It is only the part of their income over 1 million that's taxed at 75% and though I do think 50% would have been enough, I really don't care. If they want to up and leave, good luck to them. Hopefully they'll find another country where they can make obscene amounts of money!

On a more serious note, if their business is based in France and that's where they make their money, I can't see them leaving to start all over again.

So, who thinks all the poor and work-slaves should be paying higher taxes to get us out of this mess?!!!

Many entrepreneurs are able to base themselves anywhere and still run their company.
Surely it is better to try to get some tax out of them than drive them out!

In Europe it is now very easy to change where you company is based and capital transferred to .

Look what happened in the UK.
Dyson etc. etc. so many products that were produced in the UK have been moved lock stock and barrel to other parts of the world.

It's not only HMRC that dips out it's the poor workers that no longer have jobs.

I never suggested that the poor work slaves should pay more - but - it is an inevitable consequence of driving out higher tax payers.

It always amazes me that when things are good and the work slaves thank their bosses for the fact that the boss invested the money for
them to have a job. When things are not so good the boss is always the one that is a mean whatsit cos the business can't afford to

Tis just my personal opinion that any economy only survives on what those who can do and want to do not those that
whinge about what they can't do cos they don't have cos they did not do.

However, the fact that many so-called "businessmen" spend most of their time trying to avoid taxes, however much or little they are which just shows how greedy they are.

I've always said the third world war would be an economic one - which we seem to be losing - and when the multi-millionaires are asked to dip into their pockets they seem to desert the ship like rats. OK 75 % is a little steep but I certainly wouldn't want the American system where the more you earn, the more your tax rate goes down (See recent articles about Mitt Romney!)

There has to be a fairer system where everyone pays their way. Public services have to be paid for. Who's gonna pay? You Joe? LOL

As for Brittany Ferries - are they also cutting the wages of the fat cats at the top? Are the useless bosses that have let the company go downhill going to be fired too? I doubt it!
